2/20/2023 0 Comments 311 transistor vinyl reissue![]() ![]() A tad of the shrinkwrap is peeled (maybe a inch or two on the back) but it's probably among the best copies still out there. Transistor contains all the best elements of the band and the most requested songs at shows. This album sounded very odd when it was released in 2007 to the uneducated listener. Mine is still sealed and virgin/unplayed. The 1 311 album for the true 311 fan, just above grassroots, music, and self-titled. I'm not sure how many copies exist out there but there appears to only be one pressing out there. I'd say this is probably their peak as a group and side with the critics for a change. A bit more politically charged and serious compared to the two albums before it. Overall, not their best album but still a solid effort and a bit underrated.Īs far as pop-punk goes, this one's pretty good. I'd gesture that this may be the best sounding copy out there since reissue companies generally have a tough time gaining access to the original master sources. The bass guitar really sounds nice and meaty on the vinyl compared to my cd. However, it's unknown how many copies of this original press are still in the wild and when they do show up in auction they don't come nearly as cheap, as should be expected. Pretty much all of the listings you will find online will be for that reissue since it is easy to find and there are a lot of copies out there. It has since been released last year by a third party label and if you want to just 'own this on vinyl' then that issue can be found easily for under 30 bucks or so. This is the hard to find original Capricorn Records pressing from 1999 with the catalog number of CAPVN 1001. Not quite as classic as the self titled, but I always preferred this one to Transistor. I'm offering a couple more LPs after the interest of my last listing. ![]()
